How to close your Hotmail account permanently?
Hotmail has less spam than any other email providers and cleanest design. You receive excessive spam email because your email was hacked or exposed too much in the internet world. Hotmail really doesn’t care why you want to close your Hotmail account. But you can close any time you want in an instant by following this simple step by step method:
1. Login to you Hotmail Account
2. At the top right corner, click the drop down button beside your username.

3. Click on the Account.

4. Here you can see your Hotmail account overview, below other options, click Close your account.
5. You will be redirected to a new page where you need to enter your password. After your Hotmail password is entered click yes.
Congrats! Your Hotmail account is closed.
Your account will not be deleted immediately after closing your account; it will be in inactive mode. You can activate your Hotmail account by simply logging in. If your Windows Live Hotmail account is inactive for more than 4 months that is 120 days, then it will be permanently deleted and your username will be available that can be taken by somebody else. You can activate your Hotmail account any time within those 120 days by simply logging in.
If you have not accessed your Hotmail account for 270 days that would be 8 and a half month, your Hotmail account will be marked as inactive, all your mails are deleted and you don’t receive any new mails. Five days short to complete one year (360 days) and still your account is inactive then your Hotmail account will be permanently deleted and after one year of completion your Hotmail id will be ready to be taken by someone else.
